PA’s Worlds End State Park

Pulling yourself away from the frantic hustle of everyday life can be quite the task. With warmer weather on the horizon, however, many people are looking forward to spending some well-deserved time in the great outdoors. In this outdoorsy spirit, we suggest a retreat from civilization by visiting Pennsylvania’s Worlds End State Park.

Worlds End State Park definitely lives up to its ominous moniker by being located in hardly-populated Sullivan County – easily reached in your PA car rental from Orthodox Auto Company. The 780 acres of isolated, remote land that was once occupied by Native Americans is yours to explore.

The park’s grounds fall in the Loyalsock Creek Valley, and Worlds End was officially made a state park in 1932. President Roosevelt’s Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) began developing the site a year later in 1933. The original cabins built by the CCC still grace the park to this day and contribute to the state park’s rustic charm.

The park’s trails can be treacherous at times. Rugged and rocky trails mean that you should bring appropriate footwear on your trip to Worlds End State Park. You’ll see gorgeous scenery like mountain valleys, waterfalls and breathtaking vistas on your hike. The park has over 20 miles of trails for hiking; some hikers even decide to go all-out and hike the full 60 miles of the Loyalsock Trail in Loyalsock National Forest.

Feel like a little camping? Worlds End State Park has campsites for RVs and tent campers as well. If RV camping doesn’t sound much like roughing it to you, get your hands on a cash car rental from Orthodox Auto Company. You’ll have plenty of room to pack away your belongings while you camp, and more importantly, packing up and heading home will be much quicker in one of our PA rental cars than it would be in an RV.
