Summer Events in Philly: June 2014

It’s no secret that Philadelphia is home to an array of top-rated attractions. From historic parks to renowned museums, Philly provides nonstop entertainment to travelers and locals alike.

During the summer, visitors flock to the city to partake in the acclaimed local festivals. This year a variety of events are scheduled for June. While you’re touring the city streets in your car rental, visit any of these local events:

  • Hispanic Fiesta (June 12-13): Take your car rental to Penn Landing to join this cultural celebration. As a part of the PECO Multicultural Series, the outdoor festival showcases many Latino traditions, including the culture’s music, entertainment, and food. As one of Philly’s premier Latino events, the festival attracts approximately 15,000 visitors each day.
  • Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll (June 19): Dozens of West Philly businesses participate in this annual event. Businesses set up tables along the sidewalk and sell items priced at a dollar. Aside from cheap shopping thrills, the event also offers live music and street performances.
  • Manayunk Arts Festival (June 21-22): Celebrating its 25th year, this two-day festival is one of the biggest events in Delaware Valley. The event unites nearly 300 artists, drawing in young talent and well-known names in the art community. Whether you’re browsing through the exhibit areas or enjoying the delicious dishes from the various vendors, you’ll be glad you attended the festival.

Since these events are so popular, you’ll need to reserve your car rental in advance. At Orthodox Auto Company, we can provide you with transportation to make getting around Philly simple. For more information, contact us today at (215) 332-3520.
